Hotel

Ok so what most of you dont know is that todd and I have been living in a hotel since the first week of july when we lost house #2, all of our stuff is still at his parents and some of it at mine but the essentials you know like clothes, toothbrushes, shampoo, that type of thing we do have and we have been eating sonic pretty much well thats pretty much all we have been eating because its free and we are trying to save every penny we have!!! as for the house search and how its going lets just say its going I dont wanna jinx anything!! Hopefully we will be out of this hotel really really soon!! Todd and I have been working at the sonic pretty much all the time he has only got one day off since he took over there in June, June 14th to be exact and I moved up here the first weekend of July and work with him everytime he closes and when he opens I show up when he starts to get busy and needs me which is about lunch hour. We only have one assistant manager right now and are looking to hire more I cant wait til we get settled with everything the house, the store, but that wont happen until we get another assistant manager in there and get him/her trained. Hopefully we will have someone in there soon and get them trained and everything done and ready to go the beginning of october...hopefully. We have been just keeping our spirits high and just knowing that God has our best interests in mind and will take of us no matter what. It's nice being in Kansas city though, a big city again, where I know if we need something I can always find it somewhere whether it be walmart, target, or sams club, and sometimes whole foods store you know for the essentials... well I will try to keep yall updated in the next couple weeks as to what is going on Hopefully something BIG please keep us in yalls prayers!!

House Number 2

 as of June 24th, 2010

Ok so heres the thing with this house thing, When we looked at that other house (the first one we put an offer on) I really liked it I like the countertops I liked the outside of it I like the living room I didnt like the master bed or bath or really any of the other bedrooms for that matter and I think the more I looked at it the more I wanted to change about it and didnt really like it. The day of the 14th is when I really realized that was not our house I was just not happy with it or about it. So I called sheryl (our realtor) and told her and asked if we could still look at others and I talked to todd and he wanted to keep that offer on that house!! I was like why it leaks and the backyard and front yard is a mess and even the inside of it would need work, his reasoning was that he felt that we wouldnt be able to find another in that area and that we both liked and I being who I am begged to differ. so I continued to look and I found this house on the internet one day and it was 141,000 which was way over our budget and I really really liked it it was a hud home so no one lived there and I didnt know if there was anything wrong with it but I liked the living room with the fireplace (the other house didnt have a fireplace) I liked how the kitchen was bigger and more open I liked how the laundry room was an actual room and was on the main floor I liked the master bedroom and how big it was I liked how the master bath was another room off the master bed and how it has a jacuzzi and I like how it has a ton of light coming in from all the windows and how the backyard backs up to woods pretty much. I like everything about it and I know I could move into it today and not have to change a thing about it. so being that it was a hud home and because of that we had to put a offer on it friday after we just looked at it thursday and they would look at all the offers and the person with the highest offer on sunday got it. well we got a call from our realtor on monday and she said WE GOT IT!!! so I went up there on tuesday and signed all the papers and took her the earnest money and now we are just waiting on them to sign it and we will get an inspection done and then it will pretty much be ours after we sign the papers!!!

As of July 1st, 2010

The HUD Home is no longer ours at all, after about a week of waiting for the GOVT. to come back and sign the papers, my realtor decided to call them then called me somehow somewhere on the papers todd's signature did not match his other signatures .... so they cancelled it...HOW RIDICULOUS!!! So we asked what we could do to fix it and they said nothing at that point it had already ran out of time and was offered to the next person.... not like they couldnt have called us the whole week we were waiting and said um we need you to verify your identity!!! I really think at this point the govt is just absolutely pigheaded and well you can tell its ran by a man! no offense guys but comeon I found out that my realtor thinks that the next person knew some one in the office and it was probably a pretty little girl that wanted it and a single nasty bachelor that took it from me and gave it to her!!! WHEW!! ok so now that Ive took a breath Ive come to realize that God wants something better for me, a better house! a better neighborhood, maybe even a better price.... so that was not the house for me and there will  be another one a better one one I will love everything about.....right?

Ok so change that!

Ok so sunday afternoon we went to look at this house with todds parents and come to find out it rained there the night before (which was good in our situation), so the house showed us how much it really did leak and that was quite a bit there was standing water in the bathroon in the basement in the garage in the laundry room, it was AWFULL!!! on top of all that the brick on the outside of the house was pulling away from the house so that means these guys would have to come in tear the brick down and reput it back up with tiebacks and that would end up costing us alot of money so we decided that maybe that house wasnt the one for us and that was gods gracious way of showing us. Which I started thinking and I wasnt really IN LOVE with the house in the first place so maybe that was gods way of helping me out. I talked to our realtor the next day and she thought we needed to take our offer off the house as well as my dad and mom my mother in law and my father in law, in fact the only person that didnt want to take the offer off was TODD! Todd thought that was going to be the best we were going to find and that we werent going to find anything better within 10 minutes of the store and somewhere we could resell that was a GOOD starter home well I begged the differ. See to me when you buy a home thats a major purchase so no matter whether its your first or last no matter what situation your in I think you definately do not need to rush it!! well the realtor sent me some other homes in the area and Im going to go look at them tommorrow with her and Ive even packed me a kit so I can answer all of my parents and todds parents questions. Whats in this kit you ask? well a camera to take a TON of pictures and I do mean a TON Im talking pictures of the roof, pictures of the hot water heater, pictures of the air conditioner, pictures of the walls, the basement, the bathrooms, around the toilet, in the shower, in the kitchen, in the bedrooms, in the attic, in the closets, you name it I will have a picture of it. As well as a camera I have a tape measure to measure the room sizes the cabinet sizes the wall sizes the closet sizes the HOUSE!! Last but not least I have my trusty notebook and pen to write everything down....WHEW I think I have everything, anything else you think? well there is this one house and I am hoping its the one its 11 years old and its a foreclosure and its really really nice!! (from the pictures) originally they had it at 141,000 which as you know is out of our range well I prayed for god to help us last night and this morning its dropped down to 126,900 which is in our range!!! IM SOOOO EXCITED!!!! I just pray that god continues to help us and he will show us which house is right for us and believe me I have faith that he will I am not worried one bit! ;-)

God Blesses

ummm.....moving?

well ok so it's been a rollercoaster ride since I last blogged todd and I went up to kansas city again to look for houses to rent or anything to rent that we both can agree on. His thing is price (which I agree) but all the house to rent up there that are a desent(sp?) price are like 1200 a month or more which sucks big time! which niether one of us can see spending that kind of money on a house especially to rent. Then as you know we considered buying in the past and well we went home that night and considered it once again and this time we had some unexpected money (thank you LORD!!) that we could use as a down payment sooo the next day we consulted our families to see what they thought about it and made the next step which meant calling and getting preapproved! After we got preapproved for a 130,000 dollar home I started looking online comparing square footage compared to price and how many rooms and is it newer than the other and what about the kitchen and flooring and the bathrooms? Now I know everyone says your first home is never this perfect home and exactly what you want it to be but my first home was in memphis and we loved it so does that mean this one is bound to be bad? hopefully not since we are buying it we can paint it and do whatever we want to it as long as we have the money. well so as it goes I am going to look at these houses on monday and then todd and I are going to look at them on thursday and hopefully friday we will be putting an offer on one of them.... lord I am going to need your help more than ever now amen.......

NEW HOUSE!?!

So we started off looking for a house to rent because as you know we have keiko and I really dont want to have to deal with her in an apartment it would be too much of a pain on those nights when todd has to close at midnight. so we started looking and looking and looking and couldnt find anything for less than $1,000 a month so we started doing the math and found out that it would cost us less than $1,000 a month to buy a good size home, yes that's right BUY! so as you can imagine I was thrilled that I would have my very own home!! We called a realtor and she started the process as to looking at houses then she tells us the bad news that we have to get preapproved before we even actually look at a house IN PERSON! ok so this will be easy just go talk to a bank and get preapproved I mean they do it online nowadays.... the problem is that the majority of his pay is 15% of what the store makes and THEY (the bank) considers it a bonus so they dont consider it at all .... so now I dont know what we are going to do... we need to have a house in about two weeks... we need a miracle... god please...pray for us....

Jesse

Hi my name is Jessica but all my friends call me Jesse and Im married to one of the best men in the world his name is Todd and this is our first blog. I am doing this for all my friends and family back home in memphis so they can keep in touch and know what's going on in our lives as we move and go through this transition to husband and wife, lol, hmmmm... We currently live in the southeast region of Kansas and are currently looking for houses just a little north of Kansas city, Mo. I am a certified dental assistant and my husband is a GM for a restaurant. I will be new to the area because I am originally from the Memphis Tn area and my husband will not be, he is originally from the southeast kansas area. I love to collect precious moments (hint the name of the blog, lol). We love to hang out with our wonderful friends and family. we are firm believers in god and will be going to a wonderful church when we get up in kansas city. My husband is methodist and I baptist so we will see what we can find, lol. My family is all located in the memphis area and his is scattered everywhere but no matter where they are we still love them all. They have been very very supportive of us throughout this hard time we have had. See we got married in May of 08 and by June we were moved in with his parents. My husband had to finish his schooling so he could get a better job and get us a home. He was going to school to be a Park Ranger and well about the time he got out of school is about the time the economy really started to plunge for the bottoms. All the states that we were looking to move decided they were going to have a hiring freeze, which that meant my husband couldnt find a job. Then he got this job through a very good friend and now he is staying up in kansas city with a very good friend and Im still with the in-laws as we ask the great question....buy or rent??

Love and God Bless,
